Yamaha DXS18XLF — Extended-LF Active Subwoofer for Touring and Install

Built for professional live sound, mobile DJ rigs, and demanding installations, this 18" powered bass-reflex subwoofer pairs a 1,600 W Class-D amplifier with 96 kHz DSP to push a maximum SPL of 136 dB and usable response down to 30 Hz. This model suits touring engineers who need chest-thumping bass at concert SPL.

What sets the DXS18XLF apart

Two engineering choices set this sub apart in the 18" powered class. The proprietary Yamaha transducer pairs a 4" voice coil with a die-cast aluminum frame and dual damper that mitigates vibration at extreme output. D-XSUB LF processing offers NORMAL, BOOST, and XTENDED LF voicings plus Cardioid Mode.

Transducer and amplification — headroom that holds

A 1,600 W dynamic Class-D amplifier drives the 18" cone driver with a 4" voice coil and ferrite magnet, delivering a maximum SPL of 136 dB measured peak at 1 m with headroom that keeps limiters at bay.

LF Driver: 18" cone, 4" voice coil, ferrite magnet — high-excursion motor for sustained output
Amplifier Power: 1,600 W dynamic Class-D
Maximum SPL: 136 dB SPL (1 m, on axis)

DSP and processing — control at your fingertips

A 96 kHz DSP engine with FIR filtering drives every function on this sub, from D-XSUB LF voicings to Cardioid Mode and per-channel PEQ, delay, and routing. The LCD panel lets engineers load presets or dial in custom settings.

DSP Engine: 96 kHz with FIR filter, 96 kHz AD/DA
D-XSUB LF Modes: NORMAL / BOOST / XTENDED LF
Cardioid Mode: available with two or more cabinets — reduces stage-side SPL

Cabinet, I/O, and deployment

The plywood enclosure carries a polyurea coating that resists scratches and weather, with two die-cast aluminum side handles. I/O covers two Combo line inputs, two XLR3-32 outputs (THRU/DSP OUT), USB 2.0, and an RJ45 remote port. The 35 mm pole socket and M20 mount accept standard distance rods.
