Walter Smith III is an acclaimed American jazz saxophonist and composer known for his innovative sound and dynamic performances. As Chair of the Woodwind Department at Berklee College of Music, he shapes the next generation of musicians. Smith leads his own group and is also featured in prominent ensembles such as the Ambrose Akinmusire Quintet and Eric Harland's Voyager. He frequently collaborates with leading jazz artists, including Taylor Eigsti, Christian Scott, Logan Richardson, Kendrick Scott, Aaron Parks, and Warren Wolf.
