Tune-Yards is the Oakland-based music project of Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner. Known for their inventive mix of looped vocals, ukulele, bass, and experimental percussion, the duo blends a wide range of musical influences. Their breakthrough album Whokill was acclaimed as the top album of 2011 by The Village Voice. Tune-Yards gained wider recognition with the single Water Fountain from the 2014 album Nikki Nack, which was featured in a major advertising campaign. Subsequent projects include the albums I Can Feel You Creep into My Private Life, Sketchy, and Better Dreaming, as well as a film score for Sorry to Bother You. The band is recognized for their vibrant sound and innovative approach to music.
