Thunder is an English hard rock band formed in London in 1989 by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes, Luke Morley, and Gary James, joined by Ben Matthews and Mark Luckhurst. They debuted with Backstreet Symphony in 1990, earning critical and commercial success, followed by the gold-certified Laughing on Judgement Day, which reached number two on the UK Albums Chart. The band’s line-up evolved through the 1990s, releasing albums such as Behind Closed Doors and The Thrill of It All, and consistently landed singles in the UK top 40. After a brief split in 2000, Thunder returned, creating music on their own label and delivering notable albums including Shooting at the Sun, Wonder Days, and Rip It Up. With powerful vocals, strong songwriting, and a reputation for energetic live performances, Thunder remains a prominent name in British hard rock.
