The Staple Singers were an influential American group known for their blend of gospel, soul, and R and B music. Formed by Roebuck "Pops" Staples with his children Cleotha, Pervis, and Mavis, the family band was later joined by Yvonne during Pervis's absences. Rising to fame in the 1970s, they are best remembered for hits like "Respect Yourself," "I'll Take You There," and "Let's Do It Again." Despite their family name being Staples, the group performed as The Staple Singers.
