The Searchers were a Liverpool rock band formed in 1959 and became a key part of the Merseybeat scene. Rising to fame during the British Invasion of the 1960s, they are known for hits like Sweets for My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Love Potion No 9, and When You Walk in the Room. Alongside the Beatles and Swinging Blue Jeans, they were among the first Liverpool groups to achieve US chart success. After a career spanning nearly seven decades, the Searchers gave their final performance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2025.
