The Jayhawks are a pioneering American alternative country and country rock band formed in the Twin Cities in the mid-1980s. Fronted by Gary Louris and Mark Olson, the group played a key role in shaping the local music scene and influenced acts like Uncle Tupelo and the Honeydogs.
