The Goo Goo Dolls are a rock band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 1986 and led by vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac. Originally starting as a cover and punk-influenced group, they rose to fame with the 1995 hit "Name." They are best known for their 1998 single "Iris," which topped airplay charts for 18 weeks and remains one of their most celebrated songs.
