Courteeners are an English indie rock band from Middleton, Greater Manchester, formed in 2006 by Liam Fray, Michael Campbell, Daniel Moores, and originally Mark Cuppello. Joe Cross replaced Cuppello on bass in 2015, and Elina Lin joined as pianist in 2019, with both becoming official members in 2024. The band's lineup is known for its consistent collaboration, with Liam Fray serving as primary songwriter, drawing on personal experiences for the band's music and lyrics. With seven studio albums, including St Jude, Falcon and the recent Pink Cactus Cafe, Courteeners have established a reputation for energetic live shows and candid, relatable songwriting. The group officially shortened their name to Courteeners in 2012 and continue to be a defining presence in the UK indie rock scene.
