The Avalanches are an Australian electronic group from Melbourne, active since 1997. Known for their pioneering use of samples, they are key figures in the plunderphonics genre. Their acclaimed debut album, Since I Left You, is widely regarded as a landmark in sample-based music. The group, currently made up of Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, has also released the albums Wildflower and We Will Always Love You, and is recognized for both live and DJ performances.
