Twine Bass is a unique sample library for Kontakt, created by Soundiron. It features a combination of a modified cello and a traditional Kenyan fretless stringed instrument called a Bolon. The cello is strung with rough hemp twine in various tunings and played as a stand-up bass, producing deeply sonorous sounds with rich, warm resonance, powerful low end, and a woody, soft quality. The Bolon has a cow's horn for a neck and a gourd body, with four twine strings and a goat-skin resonating head, adding to the instrument's distinctive tonal characteristics.
