Sonarworks Upgrade from SIDR to Virtual Monitoring PRO (Digitalt produkt)

Upgrade from SoundID Reference to Virtual Monitoring PRO takes an existing SoundID Reference licence and unlocks the full room cloning technology on it. Virtual Monitoring PRO measures how your own studio actually sounds — the room, the speakers and your own ears — and rebuilds that acoustic signature inside any pair of over-ear headphones, so you can keep mixing against the reference you already trust wherever you work.

Room cloning instead of ready-made presets

Unlike the standard Virtual Monitoring add-on with its pre-made speaker and consumer device simulations, PRO builds a personalised profile from a real measurement of your space. The guided measurement takes about ten to fifteen minutes, has to be done inside the room you want to capture, and needs no headphone calibration — any over-ear headphones will do. Several profiles can be created for several rooms and switched at will.

Everything the standard version offers

The upgrade also brings the complete Virtual Monitoring feature set: near-field, mid-field and far-field speaker simulations plus consumer playback simulations such as phone, laptop, TV and car for checking how a mix translates.

Plugin and system-wide

Profiles load in the SoundID Reference app system-wide or as a DAW plugin in AU, VST, VST3 and AAX formats on macOS and Windows.

Requirements

• A valid SoundID Reference licence is required — this product is an upgrade, not a standalone licence.
• The SoundID USB binaural in-ear measurement microphone is not part of this product. It is required to capture your own room profile — if you do not own one yet, choose the upgrade bundle that ships with the microphone.
• An audio interface with separate speaker and headphone outputs, and access to the stereo system you want to capture.
• macOS 11 or newer, or Windows 10 or newer, and an internet connection for activation.
