Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and producer from Mosfellsbær, known for blending strings and piano with electronic elements to create music that spans ambient, electronic, and atmospheric pop. Formerly a drummer in hardcore punk and metal bands such as Fighting Shit and Celestine, he later co-founded the experimental techno project Kiasmos with Janus Rasmussen. Arnalds has received international acclaim for his film and television scores, winning a BAFTA for his work on Broadchurch and earning Emmy and Grammy nominations for his compositions and collaborations, including tracks from his album Some Kind of Peace.
