Natalie Cole was an acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and actress, and the daughter of legendary musician Nat King Cole. Rising to fame in the mid-1970s with her Grammy-winning debut album Inseparable and hits like This Will Be and Our Love, she became the first African-American and R and B artist to win the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Transitioning from R and B to pop in the late 1980s, she achieved her greatest success with the album Unforgettable with Love, a tribute to her father, which earned multiple Grammys including Album of the Year and was certified seven times platinum. Over her career she won nine Grammys, sold more than 30 million records, and received numerous honors including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
