Molly Tuttle, born in 1993, is an acclaimed American bluegrass musician known for her exceptional skills as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and banjo player. Renowned for her flatpicking, clawhammer, and crosspicking techniques, she draws inspiration from bluegrass legends like Laurie Lewis, Kathy Kallick, Alison Krauss, and Hazel Dickens. Tuttle made history as the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year award, receiving the honor twice. She has also been named the Americana Music Association’s Instrumentalist of the Year. Her album Crooked Tree earned the Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2023 and multiple International Bluegrass Music Awards, highlighting her ongoing influence and success in contemporary bluegrass.
