Milton Jackson, known as "Bags," was a leading American jazz vibraphonist born in 1923 and active until 1999. Renowned for his expressive, swinging approach and signature solos with the Modern Jazz Quartet, he stood out for his innovative use of harmonics and rhythm. Jackson often collaborated with hard bop and post-bop musicians and was especially noted for his love of slow, bluesy twelve-bar forms. Besides the vibraphone, he occasionally performed as a singer and pianist.
