Meinl PSC100B Pickup Baltic Birch Special Cajon

Meinl Pickup Cajon Baltic Birch — Amplified Snare Cajon for Stage Use

This model (PSC100B) is a sit-on box drum built for players who need their cajon to cut through a full band. Three factory-installed Piezo pickups capture bass and snare voices separately, so the signal stays balanced through any PA or amp. Handcrafted in Europe from Baltic birch, this Snarecraft-series instrument pairs the natural acoustic character of a wooden cajon with on-stage control. Percussionists, worship leaders, and acoustic duos will find this a reliable partner for live performances.

Three Piezo Pickups and a Link Jack for Flexible Setups

Two Piezo pickups sit on the snare zones and a third on the bass area, giving you a balanced signal without needing a separate mic. A quarter-inch "link" jack lets you chain another Meinl passive pickup instrument through the cajon's own volume and tone dials. The passive design means no batteries.

Construction, Snares, Electronics, and Dimensions

The body and frontplate are both built from Baltic birch (Betula pendula), a tonewood used in high-end drum kits for its tight grain and consistent resonance. Two fixed sets of coiled steel snare wires press against the playing surface, producing a crisp slap that holds up when amplified.

• Body and Frontplate: Baltic Birch (Betula pendula) — tight grain for punchy low-end and clear attack.
• Three passive Piezo pickups — two on the snare zones, one on the bass area.
• Dual internal fixed coiled steel wires form the snare assembly, providing a sharp and defined voice that translates effectively through amplification.
• Controls and Outputs: Volume knob, Tone knob, 1/4" (6.3 mm) output jack, link jack — adjust levels on the box and chain another Meinl passive pickup.
• Dimensions: approx. 30 cm W x 48 cm H x 30 cm D — full-size playing surface; Weight: 4 kg.

Right for Gigging Percussionists, Worship Teams, and Acoustic Acts

The PSC100B is aimed at players who already use a cajon live and need reliable amplification without a dedicated microphone. Solo acoustic performers, duos, and small worship teams will appreciate the on-box volume and tone controls. Drummers adding a cajon to a hybrid kit get a self-contained percussion voice that plugs into the same PA as the rest of the band.
