Rising to prominence in the late 1980s, she made history as the first female rapper to release a full solo album with 1988’s "Lyte as a Rock", featuring classic singles like "10% Dis" and "Paper Thin". Her follow-up album "Eyes on This" broke further ground, including the hit "Cha Cha Cha". Throughout her career, MC Lyte has delivered chart-topping singles such as "Poor Georgie", "Ruffneck", and "Keep On, Keepin’ On", the latter of which entered the Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten.
