The L.R. Baggs Element Active System Classical is an active piezo undersaddle pickup engineered specifically for nylon-string guitars. Unlike conventional undersaddle designs that depend on string compression, this model tracks the soundboard's actual movement through a flexible film sensor, capturing delicate nuances with exceptional dynamic range. A proprietary low-frequency compression circuit and all-discrete endpin preamp, along with soundhole-mounted controls, deliver high-fidelity amplified tone tailored to the classical guitar's frequency response.

Film Sensor and LF Compression

Measuring just 0.05 mm thick, the ultra-thin flexible film sensor mirrors the top's motion rather than reacting to direct string attack. By suppressing compression-induced quack, it preserves the guitar's natural voice.
