Korg Pa1000 Professional Arranger Workstation

The Korg Pa1000 is a 61-key professional arranger workstation engineered for performing keyboardists and producers who need a complete backing ensemble in one instrument. Built around the EDS-X (Enhanced Definition Synthesis – eXpanded) sound engine, this model delivers more than 1,750 ready-to-play sounds and over 430 factory styles covering genres worldwide. It is the right choice for serious players who want studio-grade sounds and reliable stage connectivity in a slim, professional chassis.

What Sets This Arranger Apart

Two features make this arranger stand out in its category. First, KAOSS FX brings DJ-style real-time control to any Style or MIDI Song, with more than 65 factory presets for morphing variations, live rhythm reshaping, tape delay, and arpeggios. Second, the integrated TC Helicon Voice Processor adds up to 3-voice harmonies, EQ, compression, gating, and two extra FX blocks — all controllable from the keyboard or via MIDI events.

Keyboard Action and Polyphony

The semi-weighted keybed with velocity sensitivity and aftertouch gives players the expressive range needed for piano, organ, and synth lead lines. Generous polyphony means layered sounds and busy backing styles never run out of voices mid-performance.

• Keyboard: 61 semi-weighted keys (C2–C7) with velocity and aftertouch for nuanced dynamics
• Polyphony: 128 voices / 128 oscillators — enough headroom for full arrangements without voice stealing
• Musicians gain tactile control through the joystick, two assignable knobs, and three assignable switches for instant performance tweaking.

Sound Library and Style Engine

With more than 1,750 factory sounds, 107 drum kits, and over 430 styles, this workstation covers virtually any musical genre. The onboard sampling engine lets players load custom sounds and drum kits, while the built-in MIDI-to-Style converter turns standard MIDI files into playable Korg styles.

• Factory Sounds: More than 1,750 including multilayer stereo pianos with damper and body resonance
• Factory Styles: More than 430 with 3 Intros, 4 Variations, 4 Fills, Break, and 3 Endings each
• User PCM Memory: 300 MB compressed (≈600 MB linear) for custom samples in KORG, WAV, AIFF, or SoundFont formats

Connectivity and Stage Integration

Designed for stage and studio, this model includes a dedicated Guitar input, line-level stereo I/O, headphone monitoring, and HDMI video out for displaying lyrics on an external monitor. The built-in 2x33 W speaker system with bass-reflex enclosure delivers full-bodied sound without external amplification. Mains-powered operation (100–240 V) keeps the workstation running reliably through long performances.

• Audio Inputs: MIDI IN, Jack 6.3 mm TS (Line L/R, Mic/Guitar L) — connect a microphone or electric guitar directly
• Audio Outputs: HDMI, Headphone/Line Jack 6.3 mm TRS, Line Jack 6.3 mm TS, MIDI OUT — full routing for stage, studio, and on-screen lyrics
• Speaker System: 2 x 33 W amplification with 2 x 100 mm woofers and 2 x 25 mm dome tweeters in a bass-reflex cabinet
• Storage and USB: 960 MB internal memory, microSD slot, 2 x USB HOST, 1 x USB DEVICE for expansion and external controllers

Who Should Choose This Workstation

Working keyboardists, worship leaders, and solo performers who need a single instrument to replace an entire backing band will find their match in this arranger. Its slim 1030 mm chassis and 10.75 kg weight make it manageable for one-person transport to gigs, while the SongBook database with Set Lists allows instant recall of every parameter for each song in a set. Producers will appreciate the 16-track sequencer with up to 200,000 events, and vocalists benefit from the TC Helicon harmonizer that adds polished harmonies in real time. The package ships with a power cable, DVD, manual, and music stand for immediate setup.

The Korg Pa-Series Legacy

Korg has built the most successful and respected arranger keyboards in the world, used by countless professional musicians across every continent. This model arrived in late 2017 as a massive leap forward from the legendary Pa900, quadrupling the PCM memory of its predecessor and introducing KAOSS FX as a creative performance tool. With ongoing operating system updates — including the v1.5.1 release that expanded User Sample Memory to roughly 960 MB, this platform continues to evolve.
