Kino is a legendary Russian rock band formed in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in 1981 and led by Viktor Tsoi. Known for their impactful lyrics and distinctive sound, Kino became one of the most influential acts in Soviet rock. The band released over ninety songs across seven studio albums and gained widespread popularity, with their music often spreading underground through bootleg recordings during the Soviet era. After Viktor Tsoi's tragic death in 1990, the band disbanded, releasing a final album with his last works. In 2019, Kino reunited and has been active since, performing live for new generations of fans.
