Kim Carnes

Kim Carnes is an American singer and songwriter best known for her 1981 chart-topping hit "Bette Davis Eyes," which became the best-selling single in the United States that year and earned Grammy Awards for both Record and Song of the Year. She started her career in the late 1960s with the New Christy Minstrels before moving on to a successful solo journey. Carnes released her debut album Rest on Me in 1971 and gained early recognition with singles like "You're a Part of Me" and "Love Comes from Unexpected Places," the latter winning awards at international song contests. Collaborating with artists such as Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand, and James Ingram, Carnes achieved further chart success with hits including "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer," "Crazy in the Night," and Grammy-nominated songs "Voyeur" and "Invisible Hands." Beyond her own performances, she co-wrote the number one country duet "The Heart Won't Lie" for Reba McEntire and Vince Gill. Her most recent studio album, Chasin' Wild Trains, was released in 2004.
