Katarzia, born in 1989 in Slovakia, is a singer-songwriter, lyricist, and producer based in Prague. Known for her distinctive songwriting in the Slovak language, she merges electronic, acoustic, and experimental sounds. Her single "Kde sa slzy berú" received the Radio Head Award for best single of 2017, and her collaborative work on the Slovak National Theatre’s adaptation of Antigone won Best Incidental Music at the DOSKY Awards in 2018.
A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Katarzia draws influence from her background in theatre and film screenwriting. She is noted for frequent collaborations with producers Jonatán Pastirčák and Oliver Torr, pushing the boundaries of sound design and live performance. Renowned for her honest lyrics and innovative production, she has performed at international festivals such as Sonar Barcelona and NuBlu in New York. Beyond music, Katarzia is an outspoken advocate for women’s rights, feminism, and the LGBTQ+ community, using her platform to support social activism.
