Immortal is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Bergen in 1991 by Abbath Doom Occulta and Demonaz Doom Occulta. Known for their raw sound and icy themes, Immortal quickly became one of the most influential bands in the black metal scene. Over the years, they worked with several drummers before Horgh joined in 1996. Following Abbath’s departure in 2015 to form his own band, Demonaz and Horgh chose to continue as Immortal, with Demonaz taking over vocals and guitar. Their acclaimed album Northern Chaos Gods was released in 2018. Despite lineup changes, Immortal remains a defining force in black metal, recognized for their harsh atmosphere and enduring legacy.
