Tracy Lauren Marrow, better known as Ice T, is an influential American rapper, actor, and musician. Emerging from the Los Angeles hip hop scene in the 1980s, he released his debut album Rhyme Pays in 1987 after signing with Sire Records. He soon established his own label, Rhyme Syndicate Records, and released the platinum-certified album Power, followed by several gold-certified records including The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech, O.G. Original Gangster, and Home Invasion.
A pioneer of blending hip hop and heavy metal, Ice T formed the metal band Body Count in 1990, gaining notoriety with the controversial track Cop Killer. After parting ways with Warner Bros., he continued to release music both solo and with Body Count, whose latest album Merciless was released in 2024.
Beyond music, Ice T has built a successful acting career, most notably starring as Odafin Tutuola on Law and Order Special Victims Unit since 2000, making him one of the longest-running male actors in American TV history. He has also appeared in films like New Jack City and Surviving the Game, starred in reality TV with Ice Loves Coco, and hosted the true crime series In Ice Cold Blood.
