Era is a French musical project created by composer Eric Lévi that blends elements of rock, pop, and electronic music. Known for its distinctive use of an invented, Latin-inspired language crafted by Guy Protheroe, Era’s songs evoke a mystical and timeless atmosphere. The project gained international prominence in 1996 with its debut album and the hit single Ameno, which became a global success and marked Era as one of France’s most successful music exports. Following the debut, Era released several albums exploring different musical directions. Era 2 and The Mass continued the group’s signature style, while Reborn introduced a more electronic and Arabic-influenced sound. Era also reimagined classical works in its albums Classics and Classics 2, offering unique interpretations of pieces by composers such as Bach, Verdi, and Mozart. In recent years, the project has continued to evolve, releasing The 7th Sword in 2017 and its first live album, Era The Live Experience, in 2022. Era remains recognized for its fusion of genres, evocative melodies, and imaginative approach to vocalization.
