Cordae, born Cordae Amari Brooks on August 26, 1997, is an American rapper who first gained recognition as part of the hip hop collective YBN. He released his debut album The Lost Boy in 2019, earning critical acclaim and Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song for Bad Idea featuring Chance the Rapper. Following the breakup of YBN in 2020, he continued his solo career, dropping the YBN moniker. His second album, From a Birds Eye View, arrived in 2022 and was met with similar praise.
