Club Nouveau is an American R and B group formed in 1986 by Jay King in Sacramento, California after the breakup of Timex Social Club. Originally called Jet Set, the group changed its name and quickly signed with Warner Bros Records. Known for their innovative sound, Club Nouveau achieved major success with their hit go-go version of Lean on Me, which won the Grammy Award for Best R and B Song in 1987.
