Chick Corea was a highly influential American jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader, best known for his work in jazz fusion and for classic compositions like Spain, 500 Miles High, La Fiesta, Armando's Rhumba, and Windows. After playing with Miles Davis in the late 1960s during the rise of jazz fusion, he formed the renowned group Return to Forever in the 1970s. Corea is regarded as one of the leading post-Coltrane era jazz pianists, alongside McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett. Throughout his career, he explored a wide range of musical styles, won 28 Grammy Awards, and received 72 nominations.
