Billy Talent is a Canadian rock band from Mississauga, Ontario, formed in 1993 by Benjamin Kowalewicz, Ian D'Sa, Jonathan Gallant, and Aaron Solowoniuk. Originally playing under the name Pezz, they spent years in Toronto’s underground scene before rebranding as Billy Talent in 2001 and breaking into the mainstream with the help of a major label. Known for their energetic blend of punk and alternative rock, the band has released several multi-platinum albums, including Billy Talent II, Billy Talent III, and Dead Silence, and has sold millions of records worldwide. Despite drummer Aaron Solowoniuk's hiatus since 2016 due to health reasons, the group has continued recording and touring, with Jordan Hastings filling in on drums. Their latest album, Crisis of Faith, was released in 2022, cementing their status as one of Canada's most successful and enduring rock acts.
