Barrett Strong Jr. was an influential American singer and songwriter, best known for his hit "Money That's What I Want," Motown's first successful single. He later became a key songwriter at Motown, collaborating with Norman Whitfield on classics like "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "War," "Just My Imagination Running Away with Me," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." In 2004, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
