With a hybrid engine under the hood, Carbon maximizes performance in Pro Tools, allowing you to say goodbye to distracting third-party applications. Because each AAX DSP plug-in has a native counterpart, you can move seamlessly between these worlds. Put a track in DSP Recording Mode and Carbon will accelerate the AAX DSP plugins in real time while your processor plays the rest of your mix. Put the track back in native mixing mode and Pro Tools will automatically take care of the technical tasks for you.

With a custom-designed FPGA and eight HDX DSPs at its core, the Carbon is a powerful machine. The FPGA routes audio lightning fast with near-zero latency, while HDX DSPs process plugins in real-time - performing an amazing 22.4 billion operations per second. No matter how big your session is or how many plugins you use, you can always record with latency monitoring below 1ms. And that frees up your CPU cores for virtual instruments and more creative mixing.

Whether you're a solo artist or a member of a band, Carbon has your I/O needs covered. With 25 x 34 simultaneous I/Os – including eight mic presets and four headphone outputs – you can record your entire band. With plenty of creative options for miking, cue mixing and extensions to suit your needs.

Carbon connects to your computer via Ethernet using a proprietary version of AVB to stream audio with 32-bit fidelity, an industry first. This allows for consistently high headroom and the highest possible sound quality from input to output, making the Carbon future-proof.
