Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr., known as 6lack, is an American R&B singer and songwriter originally from Baltimore and raised in Atlanta. He first gained major attention with his 2016 single "Prblms," leading to the release of his debut album Free 6lack, which earned a Grammy nomination and platinum status. His follow-up album, East Atlanta Love Letter, reached number three on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with artists like Khalid and Normani. 6lack is also known for the hit single "Calling My Phone" with Lil Tjay. In addition to his solo work, he is a member of the Atlanta-Baltimore collective Spillage Village. Over his career, 6lack has received multiple Grammy nominations and remains influential in modern R&B.
