Todd Rundgren is an American musician, songwriter, and producer known for his adventurous approach to music and technology. After starting out in the psychedelic band Nazz in the late 1960s, he launched a successful solo career, earning hits like Hello It's Me, I Saw the Light, and Bang the Drum All Day. A multi-instrumentalist and member of the band Utopia, Rundgren is celebrated for his genre-spanning albums and innovative studio work. He was a trailblazer in electronic music, music video production, and interactive media, being one of the first artists to embrace the Internet for music distribution. As a producer, he worked on landmark albums for acts including Badfinger, Grand Funk Railroad, the New York Dolls, Meat Loaf, and XTC. Rundgren was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
