Stagg EVN 4/4 Black Elektrisk violin

Stagg EVN 4/4 MBK — Full-Size Electric Violin for Silent Practice and Stage Use

The Stagg EVN 4/4 MBK is a complete 4/4-size electric violin package aimed at players who want to practise silently or perform on stage with a modern-looking instrument. Its S-shaped silhouette departs from the traditional violin outline, while the lacquered solid Okoumé body keeps the weight manageable for long rehearsals. The set ships with a bow, rosin, stereo headphones, a 9V battery and a soft case with straps.

What Sets This Electric Violin Apart

Unlike most budget electric violins built from plastic or hollow shells, this model uses a solid Okoumé body finished in metallic black lacquer, giving it the resonance and stage presence of a real wooden instrument. The onboard 3-band equaliser with separate volume, bass and treble controls lets the player sculpt tone directly from the violin. A 3.5 mm mini-jack input accepts a CD or MP3 player for practising along with backing tracks.

Body and Build — Lightweight Wooden Construction

The body shape and material affect how the violin feels in the hand and projects on stage.

• Body: Solid Okoumé, lacquered — wooden resonance chamber rather than a hollow plastic shell.
• Furthermore, the total length of 590 mm provides a standard 4/4 dimension so adult players feel at home.
• Colour: Metallic Black — stage-friendly finish that hides cable wear under stage lighting.

Neck and Fingerboard — Familiar Feel for Acoustic Players

The neck profile and fingerboard material determine how the left hand moves across the strings.

• Neck: Maple — rigidity needed to keep the instrument stable under string tension.
• Fingerboard: Pearwood — smooth surface that feels comfortable during long sessions.
• Scale Length: 325 mm — shorter than a standard acoustic violin scale, easier to press down for beginners.

Onboard Electronics — Silent Practice and Stage Output

The electronics package makes this violin useful for both headphone practice and amplified performance.

• Equaliser: 3-band EQ with volume, bass and treble — onboard tone shaping without an external preamp.
• Headphone & Aux: 3.5 mm mini jack for headphones and CD/MP3 input — silent practice and play-along capability.
• Main Output: 6.35 mm (1/4") jack — connects to any standard amp or PA system.

Who Should Consider This Electric Violin

This model is the right choice for beginner and intermediate violinists who need a quiet practice solution for apartments or shared spaces, and for crossover players stepping into amplified genres such as pop, rock or electronic music. The full 4/4 size and 590 mm total length make it a comfortable transition for adult players coming from an acoustic instrument. Including a bow, rosin, headphones, 9V battery and soft case, the complete bundle covers every essential accessory for day one.

About Stagg and the Electric Violin Line

Music instrument brand Stagg is distributed from a European warehouse in Brussels, supplying more than 5,000 different instruments and accessories worldwide. The electric violin range includes the EVN series with the distinctive S-shaped body — offered in metallic black (MBK), metallic red (MRD), metallic blue (MBL), plain black (BK), white (WH) and violinburst (VBR) finishes — alongside the EVN X line. Dating back to the 1920s jazz era, the electric violin concept emerged when builders began experimenting with solid bodies for amplified voice.
