Sanctuary is a heavy metal band from Seattle, formed in 1985. Although they never became mainstream, they played a key role in shaping the city's hard rock and metal scene alongside bands like Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. After disbanding in 1992, they reunited in 2010. The current lineup includes guitarist Lenny Rutledge, vocalist Joseph Michael, bassist George Hernandez, and drummer Dave Budbill. Warrel Dane served as the group's longtime vocalist until his passing in 2017. Sanctuary has released four studio albums and a live EP, earning a lasting influence in the metal community.
