Godsmack is a rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. The group, led by vocalist and guitarist Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill, has become a major presence in American rock with nine studio albums, including their final release "Lighting Up the Sky" in 2023. Known for their powerful sound and energetic live shows, Godsmack has achieved three consecutive number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and numerous top-ten rock radio hits. The band has toured extensively, playing major festivals such as Ozzfest and headlining arena tours. Recognized for their impact, Boston declared August 6 as "Godsmack Day" in honor of the band's success.
