Jane's Addiction

Jane's Addiction

Jane's Addiction was a pioneering American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985 by Perry Farrell and Eric Avery. Known for their influential role in the rise of alternative rock in the early 1990s, their classic lineup included Farrell on vocals, Avery on bass, Stephen Perkins on drums, and Dave Navarro on guitar. Their early albums, Nothing's Shocking and Ritual de lo Habitual, earned critical acclaim and a loyal following, helping to define the alternative music scene. Jane's Addiction launched the first Lollapalooza festival with their 1991 farewell tour, making a lasting impact on festival culture. The band experienced multiple breakups and reunions, with various lineup changes over the years. Their later albums, Strays and The Great Escape Artist, marked new creative directions. After ongoing instability and a public onstage altercation in 2024, the band ultimately ceased activity, with members pursuing separate musical projects.
