Latone LCL 700 Blue Bb Klarinet

Bb Clarinet with ABS Body and Closed-Hole Keys

The Latone LCL 700 Blue is a Bb clarinet designed for beginner and intermediate players who need a dependable instrument for daily practice. Built from ABS resin rather than traditional wood, this model delivers the warm, balanced tone expected from a quality clarinet while standing up to temperature changes and school program use. The blue finish with silver-plated keys gives it a distinctive look on stage or in the practice room. The Latone LCL 700 Blue Bb clarinet is precisely tuned to Bb for stable intonation across all registers, suitable for ensemble work, solo practice, and music school examinations.

What Sets This Student Clarinet Apart

What makes this model stand out in the student-clarinet segment is its combination of ABS construction with closed-hole (plate-covered) keys — a configuration that helps younger players build finger strength without the added complexity of open-ring keys. Included in the bundle is everything a first-time player needs to start practicing on day one, from a hard case for transport to a neck strap, mouthpiece, screwdriver, gloves, and cleaning cloth.

Body Material and Finish — Built to Last

ABS resin has become the standard material for student clarinets because it tolerates humidity and temperature swings far better than grenadilla wood. For a student who plays in a cold classroom or walks to lessons in winter, the instrument stays in tune and doesn't crack.

• Body Material: ABS — durable, weather-resistant construction that holds up to daily student use
• Finish: Blue with silver-plated keys — distinctive stage appearance with traditional key plating
• China is the country of manufacture, ensuring each unit meets strict quality control standards.

Tuning and Key Design — Player-Focused Engineering

Closed-hole (plate-covered) keys are the standard configuration for student clarinets because they help develop proper finger placement and reduce air leaks from partially covered tone holes. Tuning to Bb means this clarinet joins standard school bands and wind ensembles without transposition.

• Tuning: Bb — standard concert band and school ensemble tuning
• Key Type: Closed (plate-covered) — supports classical finger technique and minimizes air leaks
• Intonation: Precisely tuned to Bb for reliable intonation

What's in the Box — Ready to Play

The accessory bundle removes the guesswork from a first clarinet purchase — players get everything they need to start practicing the moment the box opens.

• A sturdy hard case is included to protect the instrument during transport and storage.
• Mouthpiece: Included — ready to attach a reed and play
• Accessory Bundle: Screwdriver, neck strap, gloves, cleaning cloth — covers basic setup and maintenance needs

Ideal for Students, Beginners, and Music School Programs

The LCL 700 Blue is the right choice for beginner and intermediate clarinet students who need a durable, ready-to-play instrument with all key accessories included. It's well-suited for music school programs, first-year players, and adult learners returning to clarinet. Players upgrading from a rental will appreciate the closed-hole key design that supports classical technique, while the ABS body means parents don't need to worry about cracks from temperature changes.
