Jewel Kilcher, known simply as Jewel, is an American singer-songwriter born on May 23, 1974. Raised near Homer, Alaska, she performed as a child with her musician father and later trained in operatic voice at the Interlochen Arts Academy. After moving to San Diego, she began performing in local venues and soon caught the attention of Atlantic Records. Her debut album, Pieces of You, released in 1995, became one of the best-selling debut albums ever and launched hit singles like Who Will Save Your Soul, You Were Meant for Me, and Foolish Games. Over her career, Jewel has been nominated for four Grammy Awards and has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. She has explored various genres, from folk and pop to country, with notable albums including Spirit, This Way, 0304, and Perfectly Clear. Jewel is also a published poet and actress, earning praise for her role in Ang Lee's Ride with the Devil. In 2021, she won The Masked Singer as Queen of Hearts.
