Harold Allan Clarke, born on April 5, 1942, is an English rock singer best known as a founding member and lead vocalist of the Hollies. He helped create several of the band’s major hits, including On a Carousel, Carrie Anne, Jennifer Eccles, and Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress. After retiring in 1999, Clarke returned to music in 2019. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010 with the Hollies.
