Supertramp was a British rock band formed in London in 1970, known for combining progressive rock with pop influences. The group was led by Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies, whose distinctive songwriting shaped Supertramp's sound. Their most successful years were between 1973 and 1983 with a classic lineup including Hodgson, Davies, Dougie Thomson, Bob Siebenberg, and John Helliwell. After two modestly received albums, they achieved widespread recognition with Crime of the Century in 1974, which marked the start of their transition toward more accessible pop-rock. Their commercial peak arrived with 1979's Breakfast in America, which produced international hits such as The Logical Song and Take the Long Way Home. Other notable songs include Dreamer and Give a Little Bit. Hodgson departed in 1983, after which Davies continued to lead the band through several lineup changes and additional albums. Supertramp found major success in North America, Europe, and especially Canada, selling over 60 million albums worldwide by 2007.
