Polly Jean Harvey, born in 1969, is an acclaimed English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She began her musical career with Automatic Dlamini in the late 1980s and soon formed her own trio, PJ Harvey, releasing the influential albums Dry and Rid of Me before embarking on a solo path. Over the years, Harvey has released multiple acclaimed albums, working with long-time collaborators such as John Parish and producer Flood. She is the only artist to have won the Mercury Prize twice, for Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea and Let England Shake. Harvey's distinctive artistry has earned her numerous nominations and awards, including a BAFTA, Brit and Grammy nominations, Rolling Stone accolades, and an MBE for her contribution to music.
