Ghost is a Swedish rock band formed in Linköping in 2006, recognized for their blend of heavy metal, arena rock, and striking theatrical performances. The band is known for its anonymous "Nameless Ghouls" and a frontman who adopts the evolving persona of Papa Emeritus, characterized by dark, ritualistic imagery. Ghost gained international attention with their debut album Opus Eponymous in 2010 and reached new heights with Meliora in 2015, which topped the charts in Sweden and broke into the US top ten. Their later albums Prequelle, Impera, and Skeletá continued their success, with Skeletá becoming their first US number one. In 2017, the band's mastermind was revealed as Tobias Forge. Ghost's single Cirice earned them a Grammy Award, cementing their reputation as one of modern rock's most distinctive and theatrical acts.
