Falco, born Johann Hans Hölzel on 19 February 1957, was a renowned Austrian singer and musician celebrated for his distinctive blend of pop, rock, and rap. He achieved international fame with hits like Der Kommissar, Vienna Calling, Jeanny, and especially Rock Me Amadeus, which became the only German-language song to reach number one on the US Billboard charts in 1986. With over 20 million albums and 40 million singles sold, Falco remains Austria’s best-selling music artist. He continued to influence pop music even after his death in 1998, with posthumous releases such as Out of the Dark.
