Uvex primo was developed with the goal of making a ski helmet that can cope with many different requirements, while ensuring maximum safety. The helmet’s hardshell construction, with an injection molded outer shell and EPS inner shell, is a highly effective safety combination: impact-resistant on the outside, shock-absorbing and insulating on the inside. On warm days just like cold days the temperature inside the helmet is automatically regulated. The active openings of the built-in ventilation system ensure a continuous, draft-free supply of fresh air around the clock. For greater comfort, improved ventilation at the top of the head guarantees a cool head, even in warm spring temperatures.

Since fit is very important in the uvex primo, uvex has developed a lining: shaping the anti-allergenic liner like a hood, to create a perfect connection between the head and the outer shell. Custom fit to each individual head shape, width and height, is achieved with the IAS 3D system. uvex ear pads keep ears warm and protected on the slopes, but still provide full sound perception. The uvex primo’s liner and ear pads are specially designed to match the outer color: women’s models combine a stylish metal look with fluffy faux fur, and young, sporty skiers will be delighted with colorful details and ears.

Hardshell:
The helmet consists of a hard outer shell and an inner EPS layer. An effective safety combination makes the helmet resistant to external impacts and the inner layer absorbs them. For maximum safety and maximum comfort.

IAS 3D:
The sophisticated IAS 3D system provides optimal helmet size adjustment to different head sizes and shapes by simply turning the adjusting wheel. The space inside the helmet adapts to the height and circumference of the head.

Removable lining:
The uvex lining absorbs excess moisture, is antiallergenic and easily removable for cleaning.

FAS:
FAS is a fast adaptation system that forms a network of straps anchored inside the helmet. Allows a harder and more secure hold of the helmet on the head.

Monomatic:

ABS:
Helmet shell outer material. ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) is a relatively new, extremely strong and tough plastic with high resistance to pressure impacts, crack propagation and abrasion even at low temperatures. Good resistance to atmospheric influences and UV radiation. Its low thermal conductivity (no insulation required) makes it suitable for use in cold conditions.
