Shuhada' Sadaqat, born Sinéad O'Connor, was an influential Irish singer-songwriter and activist known for her powerful voice and fearless artistry. Rising to international fame with her 1987 debut album "The Lion and the Cobra," she achieved global success with the 1990 album "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got," featuring the iconic hit "Nothing Compares 2 U." Throughout her career, O'Connor released several acclaimed albums and collaborated with numerous artists, while also using her platform to address topics like child abuse, human rights, and social justice. Renowned for her outspoken activism, she famously protested against abuses in the Catholic Church during a 1992 Saturday Night Live performance. In her later life, she converted to Islam and adopted the name Shuhada' Sadaqat. Her memoir "Rememberings" became a bestseller in 2021, and she was posthumously nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
