Robert Fripp, born in 1946, is an English guitarist, composer, and producer, best known as the founder and leading member of the progressive rock band King Crimson. Renowned for his distinctive playing style and use of asymmetric rhythms, his work is influenced by both classical and folk music traditions. Fripp has collaborated with artists such as David Bowie, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Talking Heads, and Blondie, and has appeared on over 700 releases. He pioneered innovative guitar techniques and systems such as Frippertronics and Soundscapes, and co-created the Windows Vista startup sound. Fripp is married to singer and actress Toyah Willcox.
