Novation Launchkey Mini 25 MK4 Black Master-Keyboard

Novation Launchkey Mini 25 MK4 — Compact DAW Controller with Deep Integration

The Novation Launchkey Mini 25 MK4 is a portable 25-mini-key MIDI controller built for music makers who want studio-grade DAW control in a backpack-friendly form factor. Weighing only 0.78 kg and measuring 338.5 mm wide, this controller delivers the same deep Ableton Live integration, generative arpeggiator, and chord tools found on larger Launchkey models.

What Sets This Controller Apart

Three features separate this model from typical mini keyboards. Patented FSR pads with polyphonic aftertouch enable expressive drumming and clip launching on the 16 RGB buttons. The onboard arpeggiator includes a 16-step pattern editor with tie, accent, and ratchet controls. NKS-ready integration delivers tight control over Komplete instruments.

Keybed and Performance Controls

The keybed and control surface determine how naturally a controller responds during performance.

• Keys Number: 25 — two octaves of synth-style mini-keys
• Keyboard Technology: Dynamic (velocity-sensitive) — captures playing dynamics for expressive playing
• Pitch Bend: Yes (touch strip) — smooth pitch and modulation control
• Pads: 16 RGB backlit, velocity-sensitive with polyphonic aftertouch — drumming, clip launching, and step sequencing

Connectivity and Power

Connectivity and power delivery define how seamlessly a controller fits into any setup.

• Outputs: MIDI OUT (3.5 mm jack) — drive external hardware synths directly
• Battery Powered: No — USB bus powered, no batteries to replace
• USB-C: Bus powered — single-cable connection, no external power supply
• Sustain pedal input: 1/4" jack — add a footswitch for hands-free sustain
• DAW scripts: Ableton Live 11+, Logic X/11, Cubase 11/12, Reason, FL Studio, Ardour — custom mappings for major DAWs

Onboard Creative Tools and Display

Onboard creative tools let producers sketch ideas without opening a DAW.

• Display: 128 x 64 monochrome OLED — parameter names, chord data, DAW feedback
• Arpeggiator: Generative with 16-step pattern editor — mutate, deviate, accents/ties/ratchets
• Scale Mode: 30 built-in scales with Chord Detector — stay in key automatically
• Chord Modes: Chord Map, Fixed Chord, User Chord — trigger, lock, and store progressions
• Encoders: 8 endless rotary — plug-in, mixer, sends, and transport modes
• Speaker Built-in: No — pure controller design, sound from software or connected hardware
