Milli Vanilli was a German R&B duo formed in Munich in 1988 by music producer Frank Farian. The group featured Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus as the public faces, while the actual vocals were performed by Brad Howell, John Davis, Charles Shaw, Jodie Rocco, and Linda Rocco. Their debut album, released as All or Nothing in Europe and Girl You Know It's True in the United States, became a global hit and won them the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990. They sold millions of records worldwide and became one of the most successful pop acts of their time. Their fame ended abruptly when it was revealed that Morvan and Pilatus did not sing on their records, leading to their Grammy being revoked. A planned comeback album in 1998 was never released due to Pilatus's death that same year.
